C’est Cannes 2019

The Cannes 2019 poster celebrates filmmaker Agnès Varda. If anyone knows the name of the camera assistant or grip whose back she’s standing on, please contact FDTimes. It was August 1954 and, as the official Cannes press release describes, she was filming La Pointe Courte in natural settings, with a  lightweight camera, on a shoestring budget in the South of France.

On  Friday, May 24 at 8pm, Bruno Delbonnel AFC, ASC will be presented the Pierre Angénieux ExcelLens in Cinematography Award in the Buñuel Theatre of the Palais des Festivals. Bruno has received five Academy Award nominations and his credits include AmélieLe Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain (2002), A Very Long Engagement / Un long dimanche de fiançailles (2005), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2010), Inside Llewyn Davis (2014), Darkest Hour (2018), etc. Film and Digital Times will post an interview with Bruno next week.
