ARRI Hi-5 and Hi-5 SX lens control hand units now provide lens data overlays on several SmallHD and ARRI CCM-1 Monitors running PageOS6.
The Monitor Overlay License is available from the ARRI License Shop and provides:
- Display of focus setting and focus scale (independently visibile)
- Display of iris value and scale (independently visibile)
- Display of zoom setting
- Camera-aligned overlay modes (Off / ARRI / ARRI Surround)
- Light and dark overlay themes
- Adjustable User Interace size (50–200%)
- Adjustable FocusBug CineRT object marker size (50–200%)
- Adjustable overlay transparency
- Adjustable background box transparency
- Save and load up to three overlay configurations
The license works with the following SmallHD and ARRI CCM-1 monitors running PageOS 6 at this time:
- SmallHD CINE 5
- SmallHD CINE 7
- SmallHD CINE 13
- SmallHD Ultra 5
- SmallHD Ultra 7
- SmallHD Ultra 10
- SmallHD 703 Ultrabright
- SmallHD 1303 HDR
- ARRI CCM-1
- Since the data overlays work with the current release of PageOS 6, the Cine 18 and Cine 24 should also be compatible.
Christine Ajayi-Scheuring, Product Manager for ARRI Camera Accessories, had an early version at BSC Expo and demonstrated how to customize the overlay position, size and opacity. On the touchscreen monitor, she showed how to drag various elements and reposition them on screen. For example, if you prefer to have the focus scale on the left side of the screen, drag it there.”
Matt Eidenbock, Product Manager for SmallHD, added: “Lens data is generated from the camera or lens motor and then transmitted to the Hi-5. The overlay reflects that data exactly. The Hi-5 sends lens data directly to the SmallHD monitor via a physical connection, either USB-C or (coming soon) the 4-pin serial port on the Hi-5. The ARRI Hi‑5 lens data overlays integrate with SmallHD’s Add-On API framework, combining a Hi‑5 user experience with SmallHD’s PageOS 6.”
