Vitec acquires Syrp Sliders & MoCo

Vitec Imaging Solutions has acquired Syrp Limited. This New Zealand company makes highly portable sliders and motion control equipment. (The acquisition was on January 23, 2019. Sorry for the delayed news. It’s been a bit busy here:)

Syrp designs and develops hardware and software aimed at the large, independent, owner-operator market. Those beautiful night sky scenes where the camera slides past rock formations are often achieve with Syrp’s motorized sliders and timelapse controls.

Syrp is now part of Vitec’s Imaging Solutions Division, with sister companies Manfrotto, Gitzo, Lowepro, JOBY, Avenger and more.

Syrp was founded by Chris Thomson & Ben Ryan and a Kickstarter campaign around 2013.
The New Zealand facility will become an R&D center for mechatronic and motion control products.
