Ed Lachman, ASC will be honored with the Pierre Angénieux ExcelLens in Cinematography Award  at the 71st Cannes Film Festival.

This lifetime achievement award celebrates Ed’s work as Cinematographer on more than 75 films and documentaries. with Werner Herzog, Jonathan Demme, Susan Seidelman, Dennis Hopper, Paul Schrader, Mira Nair, Andrew Niccol, Robert Altman, Todd Solondz and Larry Clark.

Notable films include documentaries by Wim Wenders (Lightning over Water, co-directed with Nicholas Ray and Tokyo-Ga), Little Wars by Maroun Bagdadi, A Gathering of Old Men by Volker Schlöndorff, Virgin Suicides by Sofia Coppola, Import/Export and the Paradisetrilogy by Ulrich Seidl, The Limey and Erin Brockovich by Steven Soderbergh and  Todd Haynes’s Far from Heaven, I’m not There, Carol and Wonderstruck.
