Fujinon/Fujifilm 4K Day at Sony DMPC

Thursday, August 13 — the latest Fujinon 4K lenses and Fujifilm IS-mini 4K image-processing tools at the Sony Digital Motion Picture Center (DMPC)

Fujifilm is hosting a 4K Day with a preview of the new 4K IS-mini and Fujinon’s latest 4K zoom lenses at the DMPC in Culver City. There will be guest speakers throughout the day and hands-on time. All of the Fujinon lenses will be paired with Sony 4K cameras: including the F55, F65, FS7 and the new HDC-4300 2/3″ 4K Broadcast Studio Camera. Live images will be projected on the DMPC’s 25 foot screen with Sony’s latest 4K projection system.

Fujinon’s New Lenses:

  • Fujinon ZK12x25 (25 – 300mm)  4K PL 12x Zoom Lens  — shown in both cine-style and in broadcast-style with a new, optional Fujinon drive unit) on Sony F55 4K Cameras.
  • Fujinon UA80x9BESM (9 – 720mm) 4K Broadcast 80x zoom Lens on a Sony HDC-4300 4K Broadcast Studio Camera
  • Fujinon UA22x8BERD (8 – 176mm) 4K ENG 22x zoom Lens on a Sony HDC-4300 4K Broadcast Studio Camera

There will be ten 4K Fujinon zoom lenses on display throughout the day in Cine PL and Broadcast B4 mount.

FUJIFILM IS-mini featured new Products:

  • IS-mini HDMI 4K
  •  IS-mini Rack 4K

 FUJIFILM continues to expand the product line with a new version of IS-mini Manager Software, and two new 4K products: the IS-mini HDMI 4K and IS-mini Rack 4K. The IS-mini Rack 4K will be shown working with Sony’s F55 camera. Product specialists will be on hand to discuss Fujifilm’s approach for accurate ACES color management — from on-set grading to final delivery.

    Is it really possible to get true 4K out of a 2/3″ camera?
    With the sensor measuring 9.6×5.4 mm, you would need 200 lp/mm, right? As far as i know, even the best lenses can’t give you that. So how would a broadcast zoom be able to deliver that resolution?
    After all, 4K is about resolution?
