In 1998, Les Zellan, then U.S. distributor of Cooke lenses for seventeen years, purchased the Cooke lens division from Rank, Taylor & Hobson, created Cooke Optics Limited, and moved the entire division to a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Leicester, England.
Les is an associate member of the ASC and lectures at colleges on the art of lens manufacture. He has a Master’s degree from Carnegie-Mellon University.
