Lee Utterbach Closes after 31 Years

Lee Utterbach Inc, the last 35mm camera rental house in the San Francisco Bay area is closing shop. The end of an era. Casey Hirshfeld sent us the news. You can read it on the Lee Utterbach Website. Here’s a summary:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the clients, production people, camera people, vendors, friends and everyone that has supported my rental business.  It has been an honor to serve the San Francisco Bay Area Film Community for many years and additionally to have had the opportunity to be involved with the San Francisco Film Coalition, San Francisco Film and Tape Council, and the Northern California Production Council.  After 31 years it is now time to say goodbye to this era of my life. As of November 5th 2010, Lee Utterbach Camera Rentals will cease taking any further rental reservations.  From that date forward I will be concentrating on liquidating the inventory and closing down the operation. Thanks so much for your support over so many years. Sincerely,

Lee Utterbach, Owner. Lee Utterbach Cameras and Gear
