“Cafe Society” opens July 15
“Cafe Society” opens in the US this Friday, July 15. It should be seen twice. First for the story, acting and directing. The second time for the art of the cinematography. Every frame a Rembrandt…er…a Storaro. The cinematography is spectacular. Although Vittorio will be the first to say that the most important thing in a film is the idea (story, concept), his cinematography is like watching paintings that move. read more…

The Calling of Vittorio Storaro
At Camerimage, Director Majid Majidi and Vittorio Storaro, ASC, AIC presented their film “Muhammad, the Messenger of God.” They were awarded a Special Duo Prize for Director and Cinematographer working together on a film. It will be screened at the Laemmle Music Hall Theater at 9036 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90211 from Friday December 11 to Thursday December 17.
I met with Vittorio on October 12 at his hotel in New York. He was filming the latest Woody Allen feature, not on film, but on digital. read more…
