Chris Doyle Angenieux Award at Cannes
At a black tie event in the Salle Bunuel theater at the Cannes Film Festival, Christopher Doyle HKSC was presented this year’s Pierre Angenieux lifetime achievement award for cinematography. Accepting his prize–an Angenieux Optimo 15-40 T2.6 zoom–Chris said, “This is something I can use every day and will cherish. It’s much better than a statue that sits on a shelf.” read more…

JON FAUER: Congratulations on the Pierre Angenieux ExcelLens Award at Cannes. CHRISTOPHER DOYLE: I’m honored. I’m not sure how they chose me. Maybe they saw pictures of me using their lenses [laugh]. Or maybe they wanted to throw a spanner in the works [chortle] by bringing in a “ringer” like me. They’ve already given the prize to all the great cinematographers.
