These are the shots that try focus-pullers souls.
ECU, 4K, Full Frame, 135mm prime wide open at T1.4. Which eyelash do you focus on?
Your 7-inch monitor is great, but seeing such fine detail requires the eyesight of an eagle. What you may want is a larger 4K monitor of size and resolution to guide you in the realm of eyelash-thin, millimeter depth of focus.
As depth gets smaller, focus-pullers get larger monitors.
The new SmallHD Cine 18 4K High-Bright Monitor addresses the sweet spot between your favorite Cine 13 on a stand and the Cine 24 that sits on an Inovativ cart.
The Cine 18 4K is a highly manageable blend of portability, light weight and spectacular picture. It is a rugged, bright, daylight and studio-under-a-20K-viewable production and focus-puller-friendly monitor.
Dave Bredbury, Product Manager for CS Cine, said, “It’s a next-level replacement for SmallHD’s popular 1703 P3X HD Monitor, but with significant upgrades in sharpness, resolution, and form-factor. Passionate user feedback inspired us to make the Cine 18 as future-proofed as possible. It answers a real demand from working professionals. Feedback for the Cine 13 and the Cine 24 has been fantastic, so it’s gratifying to be able to hit that sweet spot in the Cine series: a monitor big enough for Video Village, bright enough for daylight viewing, lightweight and durable enough for challenging locations, and premium enough to be part of the SmallHD system.”
And not just for Video Village. This monitor will break free from the cart because it is light and maneuverable enough to go anywhere on set or location, on a stand or sitting almost anywhere.
The Cine 18 is a 4K High-Bright Monitor with an 18″ edge-lit LCD display with 4K resolution (3840 x2160), 10-bit (8+2 FRC) color, 100% Rec. 709 coverage, 1100nit brightness, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 240 PPI, and a 178º viewing angle. All this is in a lightweight aluminum unibody chassis.
