Sony Electronics and Netflix Unveil Netflix Calibrated Mode for Sony MASTER Series Televisions: an Innovation that Responds to Consumers’ Desire to Experience Viewing as Intended by the Filmmaker
NEW YORK, July 31, 2018. Sony Electronics, Inc. today announced Netflix Calibrated Mode — available exclusively on the new Sony MASTER Series A9F OLED and Z9F LCD TVs — to ensure cinematic fidelity for the viewing experience on Netflix. Developed by Sony picture quality engineers in collaboration with Netflix color scientists, Netflix Calibrated Mode delivers picture quality approaching that of a master monitor used for standard reference in motion picture production studios. With one simple menu setting, Netflix members can enjoy precise colors and accurate dynamic contrast, as seen through the eyes of the creator.
Sony MASTER Series is comprised of two new televisions – the A9F OLED TV (65-inch and 55-inch) and the Z9F LED TV (75-inch and 65-inch). The MASTER Series A9F and Z9F will be available across North America in the fall of 2018, with pricing and retail availability to be announced later.
