GPS Equipment Tracking

The SilverCloud GPS Tracker from LandAirSea was designed to check on fleets of cars, trucks, as well as your teenage driver’s whereabouts. However, these small (2.5″ x 3.9″ x .9″), inexpensive ($469), compact and portable real-time GPS tracking units could be helpful to keep tabs on your equipment.

Stick one in each case. Or transplant the circuit into your cameras (after testing for interference). Runs on a rechargeable 3.7 volt battery up to 5 days (sleeps when there’s no movement). It can also be connected to a 12 volt power source with an adapter. Since it uses mobile phone technology, various data plans are available. Tracking uses Google Maps.

Buying a cheap iPhone, Android phone or even a basic iPad could be less expensive and might perform the same function as this unit using the track me function.
