Cooke Panchro/i 65 on Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55

Cooke Panchro/i 65 prime lenses have an image at least 60mm Ø. So, they elegantly  cover the Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55’s largest sensor mode:
GF 4:3 (1.33:1) Open Gate, 3840×2880, 43.6 x 32.7 mm (54.53 mm Ø) image area.

That’s what’s in the name ETERNA 55: round 54.54 mm to a whole number = 55 mm.

Cooke Panchro/i 65 lenses are equipped with an LPL mount. Use a Wooden Camera or other G-Mount to LPL adapter.

By the way, the GFX ETERNA 55 comes with a G Mount to PL Mount adapter with /i data pass-through (shown above). It twists into ETERNA’s G Mount and has an additional support ring with four 2mm hex  screws to secure it to the camera body.

So far, I don’t know of any LPL mounts that transfer lens data to the ETERNA’s G-Mount contacts.

There are two GRAB buttons on the camera to get still frames in the same resolution as the camera is recording video.  That’s how these two frames of Fujifilm’s John Blackwood were grabbed, below:

There are 6 focal lengths in the Cooke Panchro 65/i series of spherical 65mm format primes:
30mm T2.8, 40mm T2.8, 55mm T2.5, 75mm T2.5, 100mm T2.5, and 152mm T2.9.

Panchro 65/i prime lenses are lightweight (1.8 kg to 2.3 kg). They all stop down to T22, come in LPL mount and are equipped with Cooke /i technology.

My Eterna 55 is arriving today and Cooke 65i’s within a few weeks (I’m told), and while I’ve owned scores of cameras and lenses of all kinds and descriptions, I feel like a kid on Christmas morning, as this camera and lens set offers something new and grand to our cinematography tool set, at the right time to cheer us all up to the possibilities ahead, and at accessible prices. It’s a new world, welcome to it!
