Breaking news during IBC Set-Up day in Amsterdam.

Servicevision will announce a new series of spherical large format lenses and show an 85mm T1.4 prototype this Saturday at their IBC booth 12.C43. The lenses are light, small and fast.

Focal lengths: 18, 25, 35, 50, 85, 105 mm — all T1.4 — in 2019.

40mm and others coming later.

Image coverage: 60 mm diagonal (covers Alexa 65).

Front diameter: 110 mm.

Weight: approx 1.65 kg. (very light)

Mounts: LPL, XPL, PL.

The Ultrascorpio 70 lenses are designed by the same team that created the Scorpio FFA Full Frame Anamorphics. They have a new optical and mechanical design, built by the Servicevision lens crew in Barcelona.

Andres Vallès described the look as “silky smooth, film-look, excellent for digital sensors.”
