The annual BSC Expo was held in London on Feb 3-4. Inside the Evolution event space in Battersea Park, a short walk across Chelsea Bridge, a formidable array of companies exhibited products and services. There were quite a few introductions of new equipment or things I hadn’t seen before:
- Schneider 100mm Xenon Swing-Tilt Full Frame Cine Lens
- New Kino Flo Celeb
- Denz XPL adapters for FDC Multi
- Lee ProGlass Filters
- Tiffen NATural ND Filters
- Flowcine Tranquilizer
- Cinescope rehoused Leica R Full Frame lenses for cine
- A Golden Fleece or some such creature at Movietech’s booth
- Istvan Djuroska’s Lenser app – a terrific database of specs, weights, dimensions of almost every lens out there
- Sony 4K Full Frame E-mount UMC-S3C now available via Sony Professional Cine
BSC Expo was at Pinewood and Elstree in earlier years. I think most visitors agreed that the Battersea location, convenient to central London, contributed to the great success of the show. It has become one of the top venues in world of cinema exhibitions, and nicely represents the formidable UK production community.
