All Eyes and Ears

All Eyes and Ears

Former Utah Governor and Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman and Director Vanessa Hope discussed their new documentary “All Eyes and Ears” at the 21 Club yesterday. The film opens at the Tribeca Film Festival on Monday, April 20.

Governor Huntsman marveled at Ms. Hope’s persistence in “showing up,” waiting outside the embassy, and a 25-hour train ride to Tibet. He stressed the need to understand China, where few Americans study while several hundred thousand Chinese students each year attend our universities.

Ms. Hope said that the relationship between the United States and China relationship is complicated, but no other international relationship is more important because it affects the lives of so many people.

The talented Magela Crosignani was cinematographer on the production.

There’s a very important line in Ms. Hope’s interview with Women and Hollywood: “You are responsible for everyone when you turn your camera on.” Those are the words of a responsible and concerned filmmaker.
