Canon C300 Cameras shot the Cannes Film Festival Palme D’Or winner, Blue is the Warmest Color (La Vie d’Adèle).

Two cameras were provided by PhotoCineRent in Paris. Because production lasted 4 or 5 months, the cameras were purchased by the producers instead of rented. The cameras came with Canon mounts, and files were recorded internally to CF cards. Two Angénieux 28-76 mm Optimo zooms were also purchased by production, fitted with Canon mounts (an Angenieux option).

Directed by Abdellatif Kechiche, the film is an intimate coming-of-age love story between Adele (Adele Exarchopoulos) and Emma (Lea Seydoux). It was adapted from “Le Bleu est une Couleur Chaude” (“Blue is a Hot Color”), the illustrated novel by Julie Maroh, published in 2010 in France. The book will be published in English later this year as  “Blue Angel.” Blue is the color of Emma’s hair. The film will be released in October.
