Bangkok – DSE Open House

This report was written and photographed by Jacques Lipkau Goyard, Head of FDTimes Rome Bureau and Correspondent with Most Mileage.

Mr. Chai Mekratri,
President of DSE Co. Ltd Thailand, organized an open house, product presentation, and seminars at Bangkok’s Swissotel Le Concorde on November 12, 2012.

Around 185 attendees came: from Thailand’s major television networks, production companies, independent operators, producers and rental houses.

The day began with presentations by some of Film and Digital Times sponsors. Ms. Elisabetta Cartoni (owner & GM of CARTONI SpA) introduced the company by describing how the Italian Heads and Tripods made in Rome have evolved since 1935, when her grandfather Renato started the firm. Ms. Cartoni expressed her appreciation of the Thai market and the excellent performance by her agent DSE.

Mr. Antonio De Carlo (Cartoni International Sales, Service & Techical Support) demonstrated the features of the Cartoni Fluid Heads, Tripods, Pedestals, and the rest of the product line, including with the new JIBO and Master MkII.

Mr. Flex Lim (Regional Marketing Advisor at Fujifilm Asia Pacific) and Mr. Hiroyuki Kishi (Fujinon Japan) explained how FUJIFILM Asia Pacific Pte Ltd – a subsidiary office of FUJIFILM Japan – manages all the FUJINON Optical Device products in the Asia regions, including Cine Lenses, TV Lenses, Binoculars and Industrial Lenses.

Mr. Lim’s lecture “Introducing Quality Product” was well received as Thailand is considered to be one of the developing countries in which high quality products are being acquired at a rapid rate. Fujinon’s new PL mount lenses received a lot of attention.

Barry Rubin (Litepanels Business Development Manager, Asia Pacific) presented new products. Barry said that he had attended past DSE seminars and they had always done well at attracting the right audience. Barry said, “DSE’s efforts are endless and demonstrate a high level of professionalism and customer care. Litepanels is pleased to have DSE as our Thai distributor.”

The presentations were followed by a splendid lunch and an afternoon of hands-on product demos.

The Thai market has great potential for the coming future and similar Open House Seminars that present and share new technologies will definitely be welcome by attendees and participating companies.
