AF-S DX Nikkor 18-300 f/3.5-5.6 VR

AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm VR Zoom Lens

My current most-used Nikon lenses (NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 and 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 VR) now seem to have been merged into one new lust-worthy lens. The Nikkor 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR zoom now is Nikon’s largest zoom ratio (16.7 X) lens.

The DX-format (APS-C…for 7D, etc) 18-300mm VR lens is compact and lightweight. With its DX-format crop factor of 1.5, it is equivalent to a focal length of 27 – 450 mm in FX/35mm full frame format.

The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR  lens is made up of 19 optical elements in 14 groups, with three Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass elements (to minimize chromatic aberration), and three aspherical lens elements. The iris has 9 rounded blades.

Minimum focus is a crazy 1.48 ft at 300 mm, and maximum close-up ratio is 1:3.2 X.
