FUJIFILM Factory Tour (PDF)

Here is a 20-page PDF preview of the cover story in April-June FDTimes Issue 81-82. It’s a report on the new Fujinon MK 18-55 T2.9 zoom, the imminent 50-135 T2.9, and a tour of the factory where they are made, along with X-T2 and GFX still cameras. FUJIFILM X-T2 Still & 4K/UHD Camera

FUJIFULM North America today announced the newest in their interchangeable lens X-series cameras, the FUJIFILM X-T2. The X-T2 has received several significant improvements over the 2014 release of its predecessor, the X-T1, including a new 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III SPS-C sensor, a large 2.36 million dot OLED viewfinder, and  4K (3840×2160) video with a .mov file type. Fujinon Lens Day In Hollywood at ASC

Tuesday May 24th was Fujinon Day in Hollywood, at the ASC Clubhouse.  It was an afternoon and evening to learn about lens design, technology, applications and Fujinon’s wide selection of PL mount zoom lenses. Workshops and panel discussions explored the creative, optical and budgetary considerations that are critical to modern optics design. Fujinon 20-120 T3.5 Cabrio XK Zoom

Fujinon will have a new S35 format zoom lens at NAB: the Cabrio XK6x20 20-120 mm T3.5 zoom. It’s positioned for a new market of performance and affordability. In other words, if you can give up 1 mm on the wide end and half a T-stop, have a slightly smaller image circle (16:9 instead of 4:3), but want but want to zoom in tighter, then here’s an alternative. Thursday, August 13 — Fujifilm is hosting a 4K Day with a preview of the new 4K IS-mini and Fujinon’s latest 4K zoom lenses at the DMPC in Culver City. Fujifilm IS-Mini

The Fujifilm IS-Mini is a complete color management and monitor profiling system. It’s a small hardware box and comes with free software. It’s inexpensive and is an essential tool for DITs and post houses. The color science behind it is very sophisticated. You can use IS-Mini to create a LUT or CDL for the DP on set; and, if you have multiple monitors on set, you can attach a separate IS-Mini to each monitor. read more…
