Jeffrey: you can change the filters yourself, you just can't change the flange depth so you need to always have a filter in there (even if it's clear - optical flat). You do need to remove the lens though, so not as quick as pulling one out of the matte box. Hassan: you don't have to have NDs in the mattebox when you're outdoors, also harder to flare...

A film person running Kodak? What a novel idea! Perhaps Joe could bring back B&W stocks (including print stocks) with high silver content?

But there is a fatal flaw, I'm afraid -- what does Joe know about Kodak's core mission: making mediocre inkjet printers?

Hi,
Thank you for the article which introduced me to Clipwrap: I convert to QuickTime files.
I do pre-construction videos. Let's say I videotape a street with a videocamera Sony NX70u on an SDHC memory card. I want to burn a ''regular'' SD DVD or a BluRay DVD. Right now I connect the NX70 to a MC10 Sony DVD recorder via SVHS cable +the RCA audio. I press play on the camera and 1 hour later I have 1 DVD.

With these settings on the videocamera:
HD: MPEG4-AVC/H.264 AVCHD
PS (28 Mbps) 1920 x 1080/60p
or
FH (17 Mbps) 1920 x 1080/60i

It takes only an hour/DVD, no computer. BUT I want to improve the DVD picture quality. I know it's a DVD and from HD there's a downgrade but there must be a way to get something better without spending hours on a computer. I do not do any editing for these DVDs. It's a transfer from shooting to DVD.

Any suggestion?

Thank you for your help.

These days instead of 4K video. I'd rather have a camera capable of doing RAW video. Which seems right now to only be the C300 or the Red. The depth is in the shadows and to be able to see many more levels of blacks is nicer that just a bigger screen IMO. Especially since most people don't even have a way to show these 4K videos yet. There's not many movie theaters that are even set up for 4K yet.
