Angénieux 2016 Excellens at Cannes

For the fourth year in a row, Angenieux honored a Cinematographer at the Cannes Film Festival.

Peter Suschitzky, ASC received the Pierre Angénieux 2016 Excellens in Cinematography Award   on May 20th 2016 at the Bunuel Theater in the Cannes Palais des Festivals. Cannes officially aligns itself with stars and auteurs. Angenieux honors the Cinematography. Precious recipients of the lifetime achievement award named after company founder Pierre Angenieux have been Philippe Rousselot, ASC, AFC in 2013; Vilmos Zsigmond, ASC, HSC in 2014 and Roger A. Deakins, ASC, BSC in 2015. read more…

Keslow Camera has received the new 120mm Vantage One T1 spherical prime lens.  So has Camtec. Cannes 2016 Poster & WDIT

The official 2016 Cannes Film Festival poster shows the Casa Malaparte location in Capri from Godard’s film about filmmaking: “Contempt (“le Mépris”). Also at Cannes: Pierre Andurand, President of Angenieux announced that the company was supporting “We Do It Together,” a nonprofit film production company created to finance and produce films, documentaries, TV and other forms of media dedicated to the empowerment of women. read more…

Philippe Rousselot, ASC, AFC, on his First Digital Feature—THE NICE GUYS—opening at Cannes

ARRI SkyPanel Software Update

At NAB, ARRI showed the latest software update to the LED SkyPanels. There are  10 new features. The control panel  now shows a gel filter library. You can select a color with a familiar Rosco or Lee filter name or number. The library is organized into familiar categories: color corrections, Storaro selection, Rosco Calcolor, Cinelux, Lee Color Correct, Lee Cosmetic Series, etc. The SkyPanel color “engine”  generates the colors, but instead of having to define RGBW values, you can now pick colors by their popular and familiar names. Angenieux Excellens Award to Peter Suschitzky

Angénieux will honor cinematographer Peter Suschitzky, ASC at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday, May 20.  He will receive the Pierre Angénieux “Excellens” in Cinematography Award. Peter Suschitzky was born in London in 1941. He is the son of  renowned cinematographer Wolfgang Suschitzky, who is now 103 years old. Peter worked on his first film in 1964 when he was 23 years old. His son, Adam Suschitzky, BSC is also a cinematographer. It appears to be a family business. read more…
