Apple 2880 x1800 Retina Display

Apple’s eye-popping 2880 x 1800 Retina Display for the new 15-in MacBook Pro was announced today at the WWDC. Thats 220 pixels-per-inch, and higher resolution than anything you’re watching on your brand-new 60-inch rapidly obsolescing HDTV. Matthews Open House at New House

Matthews Studio Equipment hosted an open house the day after Cine Gear, June 3, “on location” at their under-construction new home at 4520 West Valerio Street in Burbank. Stephen Lighthill Pres of ASC

Stephen Lighthill has been elected president of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC). He takes over from outgoing ASC President Michael Goi. Stephen is also chairman of the cinematography program at the American Film Institute Conservatory, and Senior Filmmaker-in-residence: Cinematography. Cine Gear 2012 Opens

Cine Gear opened on the Paramount lot today–which was incredibly busy not only because of the Expo, but also for a Paramount 100th anniversary party. At the Expo, we saw lots of new equipment.
