The Cine Gear Expo 2012 Technical Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to E.F. “Bob” Nettman. In February, he won an AMPAS Sci-Tech award for Stab-C and his other lens stabilized 5-axis camera mounts for aerials, cars, boats, and cranes.

If only NAB could take some culinary lessons from Cine Gear. One of the highlights for me at Cine Gear is the In-N-Out Burger truck. In-N-Out Burgers are rated 23 out of 30 by Zagat: “Nothing beats a double-double and animal-style fries” for the “best fast food on the planet” boast “lovers” of the burgers at this “California classic” chain, once again voted the city’s top Bang for the Buck; “tasty” shakes and “sparkling clean” settings staffed by a “happy” crew only add to the “honest-to-goodness” appeal, so even if the drive-thru line gets “worse than traffic on the 405”, it’s still the “king” of “LA burgerdom.”
