This is a great example of the extra engineering involved in making a Compact Prime motion picture lens, where the focus scale is expanded and critical focus is maintained on the move.

I keep hearing Zeiss’ official line that the CP.2 and the ZE are the same glass, but I can’t see how they could be the same optical design with so much difference in the mechanical design – please feel free to correct my impression :)
